Jamo 707i Floor standing speakers

The Jamo 707i is Danish three-way speaker system of bass reflex type. The high-frequency region is served, as usual, by inch dome tweeter. A pair of heads with conical diffusers (127 mm) works in the range of the mid frequencies. The low-frequency range is voiced pair 205-mm heads, and both speakers are placed inside the housing. So, actually radiating woofer's element is air column, vibrating in throat cavity on the back panel. Sometimes such type of design is called narrowband. The ranges are separated by two filters with frequencies' cutoff of 150 Hz and 3000 Hz. The presence of four clamps hints at the possibility of connecting speakers by schemas of bi-wiring and bi-amping. Parameters specifications module of input impedance are quite loyal load for the amplifier: average is 8.6 Ohm, nominal impedance is 3.5 Ohm, standard deviation is +/-3,2 Ohm, maximum is (2 kHz) 16 Om. The setting's frequency of the resonator is 55 Hz. Rated power is 200 W, a valid short-term exposure is to 280 watts. The average sensitivity in the range of 100 Hz - 20 kHz, according to our estimates is very decent - 89 dB (90 dB on the passport). Speakers Jamo 707i create uniform field in the horizontal plane. There is not very clear to what extent acoustically appropriate elliptically curved side walls of the housing Jamo 707i are (likely to increase rigidity), but they look beautiful. Black top panel gleams gorgeously (obviously, polished plastic)... I'd like to point to pleasant care about the buyer: in the set to the set of pins (acoustic junction with the floor) there is a special wrench key. The dimensions of the loudspeaker are impressive: 260x1035x386 mm.

In the sound of Jamo 707i is the lack of lower frequencies. Sound image is not very dense; it blows cool, but without frosty sparkling. If you look at the left edge of the frequency response, you will understand the validity of the formulated opinions of experts. The average trend of decline in the sensitivity of downward frequency is already apparent in the 200-300 Hz and from 200 Hz to 100 Hz it amounts to almost 10 dB per octave. In this area the frequency response has distinct resonant character. This is the case, when there will be useful the separate connection of the pair of amplifiers (bi-amping), it makes sense to do for the sake of the splendor of the upper frequencies. The average non-uniformity of characteristics in the range of 1-20 kHz, if we neglect the trend of increase of sensitivity with a speed of about 2 dB for two decades, does not exceed +/-2 dB. And no significant local violations! Original print is placed on the upper aspect of the sound image system. Of course, when you listen to music, it is impossible with consciously dissected sound to enjoy high frequencies separately or separately middle... By the way, about the middle frequencies: upper middle and middle are also displayed enough correctly. However, the small peak at 700 Hz may be slightly tint brass and some voices vocal performance. The dynamics of the system is all right. Display accurate judgments about the spatial aspect of the sound were quite difficult because of the bass deficiency, but nevertheless, on the whole character space, you can appreciate a positive rating. In short, if you strengthen the lower region, for example, adjusting the frequency characteristic of the voice amplifier, you will get a very good sound, especially on chamber music.
