Mordaunt-Short MS40i Floor standing speakers

Mordaunt-Short MS40i is a three-way speaker system of bass-reflex type. Speakers look very convincingly and incite you on serious attitude. Strict design will satisfy the most respectable people. The speaker's sizes are 820x225x271 mm. The speaker system consists of two cone drivers with the diameter of 165 mm and a dome tweeter (aluminum-gold anodizing) with the diameter of 25 mm. The diffusers of drivers are made by the patented proprietary MCS-technology. On the rear panel of the body there are two bass-reflex ports, each of which is designed for its frequency. A recommendable frequency range of the amp is 15-150W, max peak power is 300W! Bi-wiring is provided. We'll start to analyze the sound and frequency response from bass part. In the range from 30 to 100 Hz a hardworking "two-tunnel" bass-reflex left its positive mark; rise is noted at about 35 Hz. Mordaunt-Short MS40i unobtrusively forms its individual musical image, characterized by rich, extensive basses with quite adequate interpretation. Flute became a bit sad against their background, cold colors lost glare. However, the amplifier can improve many things by adjusting the upper part of the range. The sensitivity of the loudspeaker is changed from 88 dB on the frequencies lower 1 kHz to approximately 83 dB at the frequencies above 1 kHz. Directivity is weak, the stereo zone is wide respectively.
