Spendor S6e Floor standing speakers

The British Spendor S6e speaker systems can be classified as usual two-way monitors, but in floor performance. One quite large midbass driver (the diameter is 180 mm, diffuser is made of semi translucent ep38 polymer, so it is a bit softer than polypropylene) and 27-mm silk tweeter by SEAS production radiate sound. Magnetic shielding is provided. There is a bass-reflex, although the systems' bodies, at first glance, have the closed construction. Its port is placed to the bottom. Spendor S6e are available in four variants of finish. Don't be confused by the fact that when you move the systems, something inside jingles - this is the crossover with its smart anti-resonant suspension.

Spendor S6e has a softened dynamics in upper frequencies. Discants sometimes seem to be even veiled, but the resolution capability, for a wonder, hasn't been suffered. Sound is comfortable and lots of details are heard - a rare combination of qualities! In midrange band the systems sound smoothly, dynamically and realistically. Vocal is conveyed clearly, images are somatic and convincing. Lower case is accented in low male voices and in the sound of acoustic guitar, but again - not at the expense of legibility. Bass is deep enougth, but a slight impromptness is felt: drums are worked out not as much biting as weighty. The result is shifted musical balance down, which, however, can be corrected by the selection of cables. Indisputable advantage is sound stage. Each source is drawn in space and takes its place, and the speaker systems have the possibility to literally melt in the sound.
