Wharfedale Diamond 10.4 Floor standing speakers

Diamond series has existed already for 30 years and this is its tenth version in succession. The branded MF/LF drivers with Kevlar diffusers are installed with vented low-profile basket. A dome fabric tweeter is equipped with neodymium magnet and closed from the outside by metallic mesh, providing necessary dispersion of high frequencies. Increased body's rigidity is provided by convex walls and internal partitions.

Real resolution of the system is rather average, but sound is exclusively clear and transparent. Upper frequencies are played softly; the middle is so bright that some especially furious violin passages shock the ear. Bass is deep, very neat and organized. Stage has small depth. Wharfedale Diamond 10.4 differ by quite good dynamics and rhythm of sound. It's interesting that such effect arose against the background of low micro-dynamics, hiding overhangs. Tonal balance is smooth, neutral, without obvious coloring. Any music sounds good, but cool and detached.
