Kudos Cardea C2 Floor standing speakers

Cardea C2 has a number of family characteristics inherent in Kudos products. These are small, floor standing, two-way loudspeakers with two drivers and one large port of the bass reflex that is pulled down into the stand. The mid-woofer from SEAS has a cone made of coated paper and a very small hemispherical hard cap. The tweeter with a wide flange and light horn deepening is also from SEAS; it is installed in a separate chamber. After big tweeters in Sonus Faber and Audio Physic speakers a simple inch soft dome looks very tiny. The bodies, made of MDF with the thickness of 18 mm and covered with a very beautiful veneer, dark brown with yellow veins, have sharp edges. The massive stand is detached from the main body by legs.

On the back wall of the body there is only a switchboard with one pair of excellent acoustic terminals by Michell Engineering. Actually, that's all - the appearance of small two-way loudspeakers is extremely laconic. Cardea C2 is made with very high quality and causes more positive emotions than even ProAc Studio 140 Mk2.

Kudos Cardea C2 produced much more enthusiasm for me than their older brothers in the model line, heard before. These excellent babies showed some special harmony of playing and exquisite transparent handwriting - like a white wine of noble blood. Kudos products always distinguish by aristocratic sound, but Cardea C2 showed not only subtlety and refinement, but also excellent energy and the ability to convey the heavy drama of records like Verdi's Requiem. I was pleasantly surprised by the attempt to bring the different structure of the piano registers to the listener - a task beyond the ability of most full-fledged three-way systems. Switching to rock/metal, diamond sticks of drummers, dry and clearly focused, energetic and elastic drums and tastiest vocals with guitars were noted. The fascination and freshness of the performance is preserved in all the tried and tested records.
