Yamaha RX-V3000RDS - quite expensive model. What is special about it? First, it has eight amplifier channels, 6 of which can give 160 watts into 4 - ohm load (standard DIN: 1 kHz, 0.7 % harmonic distortion) and a pair for the front effects shakes 25 watts. Yamaha has long offered an extended configuration of the sound field, when in addition to the 5.1 or 6.1 formats added two front speakers, which are mounted above (and slightly wider) existing front speakers. Sound sources for this configuration is not, but an extra pair of processor is designed for processing: a signal for them is the newest 32-bit processor YCC-928, which, incidentally, made decoders. It is worth noting that from Yamaha DSP modes have always been high quality work, which is not unique as effectively, how realistic sound. Most of the available DSP-modes implement sound picture, not in some impersonal room (stadium, church...), and in a particular place (the name of the concert or the cinema is often stated in the description). The fact that the company's experts measured the nature of the sound field in the most famous concert halls, and then implemented it as a "flash" DSP-chip. Nevertheless, all the DSP parameters can be adjusted to your liking: the initial delay (the time before the arrival of the first reflected signal), and echo effects, and the nature of reflections from the walls, time, delay and reverb level. All this is set separately for each of the three front and three rear channels. With such an extensive "consumer basket" from the owner of the model should be let small, but the craving for experimentation. Otherwise, all this wealth will go down in tuna...
After studies specifically home theater systems, Yamaha offered proprietary system and Silent Cinema, which allows conventional stereo converted to "multichannel" means. The central channel is the only five-band equalizer is armed, that is of particular value in conditions where the front speakers and center have tonal differences. The remote control can work with macros, has a backlit LCD display. But most importantly, it has stitched control codes devices of other manufacturers. Unfortunately, we were unable to fully assess the merits of the extended front design (there are problems with the installation of high-altitude columns), but can see that the benefits of this will increase with the size of the room (or a hall). In smaller rooms, its efficiency may be negligible. But, as regards the work of 6.1 configurations, we definitely can not praise the machine for a record depth of channel separation proprietary decoder. This model is specifically focused on the connoisseurs of sound for which instrumental abilities AV-receiver is more important than the content of the next " blockbuster"...
