Dynaudio Audience 52 Bookshelf speakers

Dynaudio Audience 52 is the flagship shelf model in the series. This is a traditional two-way speaker system, where the famous tweeter Esotec with soft dome of 28 mm in diameter, impregnated with a special damping composition, is responsible for high-frequency range. Mid and low frequencies are played by the firmed speaker with polymer diffuser of 170 mm in diameter. The body of Dynaudio Audience 52 is not the heaviest, but very hard. A thick front panel made of MDF significantly reduces the level of resonances, the damping of the interior walls, using bitumen plates, follows the same purpose. A small port of bass reflex is located on the back panel so you can't put the shelf speaker system on the wall (in any case it's not the best way of placement the acoustics in a room). The connectors for acoustic cable are designed only for a single pair of wires. As you know the Danish company does not like bi-wiring/bi-amping.

I must say that the sound, which Dynaudio Audience 52 gives, doesn't fit with the sizes of the body. I just can't believe that such a small systems are equal to such drive. Led Zeppelin definitely found a fan in the face of these tiny monitors - not only the bass line but the fine details of drum's work were transferred as much clearly and naturally as possible. However, the requital for extraordinary for shelf acoustic possibility to play LF-range became slightly insufficient damping of "strike" - it is a little bit more amorphous. But the middle of the pair is just wonderful - using a good amplifier with a large current reserve there are no claims to vocals. On the classical repertoire the speaker systems shows transparent and natural sounding with believable tones. The correct balance of attack and pitch especially please - unlike many other speaker systems, trying to make the impression on a listener by excessive underlining of attack, Dynaudio Audience 52 prefer to demonstrate the natural sound character of instruments. The versatility and absolute linearity is the motto of Dynaudio, entrenched again by deeds.
