The famous Jet III ribbon tweeter is a modification of own-produced Heil emitter. The cones of LF/MF-emitters differ from previous versions by its outer surface made of aluminum. For better damping an aluminum foil is attached not only a paper cone, but directly on the sound coil. Quite heavy bodies are made of MDF and have a rectangular form. On the back, at the level of tweeter there is the throat of large bass-reflex port, going almost to the end in depth. Below it there is a terminal block with two pairs of wide-apart terminals. The design of speaker systems is sophisticated, but enjoyable.

ELAC BS 244 have a pronounced interesting character. Their performance of academic music seems to be a little cold, extremely transparent and accurate, with high detailing and resolution. At the same passion or sensitivity are not peculiar to the system's signature, the sound is rather frosted and smooth, in certain aristocratic manner. The only important claim about timbres belongs to violins and some violas - they are a bit lightweight and smooth, without live harshness. In other natural timbres the specificity of ELAC BS 244 is almost invisible. Grand organ is juicy and effectively presented, with decent texture and clarity of pedals.

ELAC BS 244 fully play out on modern musical material, from calm and audiophile Diana Krall and Dead Can Dance songs to the most extreme metal. Absolutely different drummers with markedly different sound and manner, delicious and hard guitars and mega emotional voices of vocalists leave a great impression. The system vividly sympathizes with hard music; it plays it perfectly, with necessary transparency and swiftness, but at the same time with massiveness and ductility where it is need and absolutely everywhere in the character. However, it plays delicate and calm vocal confidently too.
