REL T7 SubwooferVisually REL T7 spreads positive, especially if it is finished with white grand piano lacquer. "Cube" looks irresistibly. The front panel is closed by grill with a strained acoustic white fabric, in the upper side of which there is an aluminum nameplate with the company's logo. The body is traditionally made of MDF with internal bulkheads, damping vibrations and resonances. Two weapons are in the roles of military equipment - dynamical head with long-stroke diffuser of 20 cm in the diameter on a steel chassis, installed below by Down Firing system, and a passive radiator with diaphragm of 25.4 cm in the diameter under the grill. The power amp, working in AB class, is able to develop up to 200 W. Lower frequency limit of REL T7 is 30 Hz that is just ideal for the device of such sizes. The increase of signal amplitude is 80 dB. As you know, the most important things, referring to setting, adjustment and switching are on the back wall in subs. The model has almost the whole standard set of tools: two volume controls, install of phase and cutoff frequency, two inputs (RCA) for LFE channel and stereo low-level input. Also there is a high-level input, organized on a special Neutrik Speakon connector. The cable with the length of 10 m is included, with jack plug and three cores on its other end, which are connected to acoustic terminals of receiver or amplifier. The setting of sub is quite simple - it is not necessary to call a specialist, but you will have to see manual. The company focuses on the fact that for greater tangibility it is better to use high-level input. But in any case the choice of connection depends on the user. When we write about impressions from, for example, top amplifier, we often tell about how one or other test music fragment is sounded, focus your attention on the sound of different instruments or voices. As for subwoofer, it plays its part in the frames of its working range and although it is important, it is still a subsidiary element in the system of home theatre. That's why the conclusions about its work are not too extensive. REL T7 reached quite decent low-frequency depths; its bass is tangible, dense and textured. Distortions in dynamical peaks are absent. The device conveys well the drama of events and is pretty musical if you speak about activity in the 2.1 system. It is universal and this is its advantage. ![]() |
