Polk Audio Blackstone TL1600 5.1 system

TL1600 set belongs to the Blackstone series, which combined several models of compact speakers. To get the best sound, the satellites' bodies are cast from a special composite that effectively suppresses internal resonances. Speaking about the drivers, we know the following: the front, the rear and the central channel are built on drivers of proprietary design, manufactured using the patented Dynamic Balance technology. Midbass is equipped with a 63-mm composite diffuser, and a 12-mm tweeter - with a dome made of impregnated silk.

The active subwoofer is equipped with a built-in 100-watt amplifier and an eight-inch driver with a high working speed. The woofer works to floor and is enclosed in a bass-reflex design allowing to expand the reproducible range up to 40 Hz. The design of speaker systems involves several options for placement in the room, including wall mounting on swivel brackets.

One of the most impressive features of Polk Audio Blackstone TL1600 is the ability to form an almost infinite sound space. The system behaves quite properly on musical phonograms - the music flows freely and comfortably. There is no need to speak about the complete absence of sound coloring, but for loudspeakers of this purpose it can be considered to be extremely insignificant. The tonal balance of the satellites is somewhat embellished only in high-frequency area and the upper middle, which makes the sound bright. Claims to the subwoofer are minimal. This generally concerns its rather tedious tuning (controls have high sensitivity) for proper docking with the main loudspeakers.
