Jamo A3SUB.1 Subwoofer

Silver A3 Sub.1 from Aesthetic series of Danish company is attracted by perfect simplicity of the form (almost a cube) and elaborate minimalist design of the faceplate. You can immediately feel the style. Driver with polymer diffusor and bass reflex port are placed on the bottom panel. There are graphs near controls of bandwidth and level (located on the service panel), illustrating their work. From commutating resources there is only a pair of linear inputs. At the organization of the system 2.1 the signal is supposed to be removed from the pre-amplifier's outputs. In fact, the possibility of commutation with outputs of powerful amplifier is provided. For this purpose a special firmed crossover with divider (sold separately), which a high-amplitude signal goes to, is connected to linear input of the subwoofer. There is the LED indicator next to the logo on the faceplate. Self-adhesive polymer legs are in the kit. With an average position of the upper cutoff frequency in combination with the shelf acoustics A3 plays gently, you can feel a good bass dynamic, but subwoofer doesn't "dig" very deep. If you maximally clean up the band (for example when working with relatively bass floor speaker systems) and switch the amplification handle roughly to "3 hours", the bass gets the character of solidity due to the emergence of significantly low-frequency components (technology of configuration requires for manipulations of both controls). However, the most spectacular theatrical sound turned out to be in combination with small shelf speaker systems, where for getting the desired sensation you can operate the handles of amplification and subwoofer band much freer. At max gain the bass thickens and loses its detailing. Subwoofer is able to take on the task of lightening the low-frequency content of music programs, but in this case it responds to errors in setting stricter and may require a change of its own dislocation place. The set of qualities, which A3 has, is optimal for solving theatrical tasks in small spaces. Although the subwoofer can be quite easily adjusted to the sounding of small floor speaker system, the best effect is achieved when it is combined with shelf speaker systems.
