Boston Acoustics CRC7 Center SpeakerThe speaker system of the central channel, Boston Acoustics CRC7, differs by small sizes. The loudspeaker has the tweeter made of Kortec material, obtained by the impregnation of a silk dome with a special compound, making the opposite side of membrane quite rigid. MF/LF sections are occupied by two 115-mm drivers with the diffuser made of co-propylene. And one of them works as passive radiator, thus reinforcing low-frequency component. This is more expensive solution than a standard bass-reflex port, but also more qualitative - the parameters of environment do not affect the work of passive radiator. CRC7 is equipped with a pair of decent spring terminals. Brackets for both horizontal and vertical mounting on a wall are provided. In case of vertical placement, rotation of the nameplate to 90° is provided. A slight deficit of low-frequency information is felt in the sound of Boston Acoustics CRC7, that is why lower formants of male voice tones are not enough convex. The upper case is very decent: everything up to the smallest detail. CRC7 noticeably emphasizes hissing consonants in speech, so it's better not to remove the decorative grill. Tonal aspect of the material is presented slightly simplified. The sound is generally focused, sharp and compact. Loudspeaker confidently bites the bullet while the processing of fast dynamical emissions. We can predict a good compatibility with floor fronts of the branded series. |
