Polk Audio DSW microPRO 1000 Subwoofer

A circuit with an additional passive radiator is implemented in this compact Polk Audio DSW microPRO 1000. The main driving force is an 8-inch driver with a proprietary suspension, which is located on the front wall of a thick MDF board. The square-shaped flat passive radiator (200x200 mm) is directed down, which allows to obtain a lower bass due to the interaction with the floor. D class amplifier, which is equipped with this subwoofer, beats all power records - at its peak it can give 2400 watts to the load.

In addition to a complete set of switching interfaces, it is worth to note the useful while setting brand PRO system with several presets for different conditions in the installation room: Cabinet, Corner, Mid-Wall and Mid-Room. These and other functions are activated using the remote control.

Polk Audio DSW microPRO 1000 subwoofer is distinguished by an extremely precise, legible bass with excellent dynamics. It conveys correctly the structure of low frequencies in most music phonograms, slightly roughening the sound only at complex double bass parts. Due to the small volume of the body, in the lowest working area, the bass may have the lack of solidity and depth, which is somewhat offset by placing the bass machine closer to the wall. But one of the things you should not do is to turn the volume knob excessively - the driver at the peak is noticeably overloaded and begins to exit the linear mode.
