HECO Celan XT Sub 32A SubwooferCelan XT series includes only one active subwoofer, but universal. The model has a huge case of complex shape, in which non-parallel walls create less conditions for standing waves and unwanted resonances. The subwoofer has a 12-inch pulp driver with an increased diffuser stroke. It differs by a cast aluminum chassis, a massive magnetic system and large diameter of voice coil. The acoustic design of Sub 32A is a bass-reflex with three aluminum ports on the back. They end with wide faucets, providing a uniform distribution of air flow with minimal turbulence. The energy needs of a huge driver are satisfied by an amplifier with active low-frequency correction and a "soft compression" circuit that prevents the occurrence of audible distortions. During system setup, it turned out that the sub works best with a narrow crossover band, so, as satellites, large floor speakers are more suitable. As for the basic sound qualities, Heco Celan XT Sub 32A did not disappoint. Bass reproduction is large-scale, with a good elaboration of the extreme bottom. The bass-guitar relief is conveyed truthfully, albeit slightly tightened. Speaking about dynamics, on the contrary, a complete order reigns here. This is perhaps one of the most spectacular "theater" subwoofers among competitors with an extremely exciting manner of delivering effects. The only thing it may need is a room of the appropriate size. |
