Dynaudio Sub 250 Subwoofer

Sub 250 is one of the most affordable models in the Dynaudio assortment with closed acoustic design and a 250-mm (10") self-production driver. The diffuser is made of composite MSP (Magnesium-Silicate Polymer) - a material patented by Danish engineers. The declared nominal power of the amplifier is 200 W, the manufacturer does not report the peak values.

The subwoofer can be connected to the signal source only through the line inputs, however, for use in 2.1 system there are additional sockets with a separate low-pass filter (Flat modes).

From the very first minutes of listening we note high timbral accuracy, correct replay of the attack and firing speed. It becomes clear that the developers put on sound quality, not the magnitude of the generated sound pressure. For this reason, Dynaudio Sub 250 does not work so effectively in the home cinema system, being somewhat overloaded at high volume. The built-in amplifier seems to be not too powerful. You should also be careful when setting the cut-off frequency - in too wide band the sound noticeably loses intelligibility and slightly coarsens. This subwoofer can be recommended for use with shelf monitors in 2.1 system - it will show itself in all its glory here.
