REL T9 SubwooferA small but weighty body has the form of cube, rests on small legs and is finished by piano lacquer (black or white is available). To achieve a maximally deep bass in the limited volume the popular scheme with passive radiator is used here. The tandem of 10-inch emitters allowed reducing the border of playing to a very respectable 28 Hz (-6 dB). Herewith, it is worth noting that unlike other similar constructions an active driver in T9 is placed underneath and this is, according to the English engineers' opinion, an important component of success. Another interesting feature is the use of the amplifier of AB class, which increases the price of the device, but allows increasing the quality of sound. Traditionally for REL, the model has two independent level regulators for each input and is able to work simultaneously on both linear and high-level (Speakon connector) interfaces. The sound of REL T9 combines several important qualities. First of all, it is the highest speed, excellent macrodynamics and the accuracy of attack. The device easily handles with high volume levels without significant side tones of the body and other extraneous artifacts. On high levels it demonstrates a truly audiophile accuracy and the highest resolution over the entire operating range. Bass structure is absolutely clear and easy to read, there is no sign of dissoluteness or loss of rhythm. In this case we can safely say that it is a universal bass machine, ably coping with any music material. |
