Wharfedale UPC-6 Subwoofer

Wharfedale UPC-6 subwoofer stands out among the competitors not only for its rich equipment and excellent finish, but also for its original design. It uses the push-pull configuration, which is implemented with a pair of 6-inch drivers. Such a solution not only contributes to the expansion of the bass range, but also reduces nonlinear distortion. The power of the amplifying part is quite high for such a compact model - 200 W at its peak. The switchboard with terminals is located on the bottom of the case. This allows you to completely hide all wiring. The sub is equipped with a small remote control with the ability to activate the user settings stored in the memory and two fixed presets (Movie and Night).

Among the strong features of Wharfedale UPC-6 sub I we can note excellent speed performance, favorable energy and decent macro dynamics. However, it is not worth testing the subwoofer with high volume - there are not too pleasant signs of compression, non-linear distortions increase. At comfortable levels the sound is maximum neat and natural. The rhythmic base is easy to read, there are no special comments to the quality of after sounds damping. In Movie mode, the sound noticeably gets free, some relaxation arises, and aurally even the depth of bass slightly increases. Night preset, on the contrary, noticeably tightens dynamics, making the sub's style more correct, but lacking, at the same time, of sharp dynamic bursts.
