Energy Veritas V2.2i Bookshelf speakersMid-sized shelf speakers Energy V2.2i are not the simplest product. They use a three-way circuit with self-engineered dome MF- and HF-drivers. These are very interesting drivers with the thinnest aluminum membranes (one and two inches in diameter, respectively), combined into a module, covered with a protective metal grid. A woofer with a 165-mm cone, also molded from this light metal, is equipped with a phase-equalizing "bullet" and a doubled voice coil. The bass-reflex is located at the back, which somewhat limits the placement of loudspeakers in close vicinity to a wall. There are two pairs of gold-plated screw terminals to connect to the amplifier that allow any switching options. The design and quality of the finish are the highest without any complaints. Speaking about the sound of this Canadian pair, the first thing that is worth noting is the almost perfect tonal balance. One can only guess what efforts have been made to achieve such a successful result, but in shelf loud speakers this is not so easy. Energy V2.2i is distinguished by an integral and emotionally relaxed presentation of any musical material with the highest resolution in the entire range. The low-frequency register is also presented great, the energy and pressure of which are enviable even for floor loudspeakers of big volume. The championship for the quality of bass would also be won by Energy V2.2i. The dynamic potential is no less impressive. The complex recordings of symphonic classics were perceived absolutely fully and sounded very interesting, which is a considerable achievement for loudspeakers of such volume. With volume increase there is no hint of transparency loss. |
