Quadral Rondo Bookshelf speakers

These German monitors do not strike by designer delights; the main efforts were aimed to achieve the main thing - quality sound. Here is ribbon tweeter, which extends high-frequency range up to 65 kHz. Bottom and middle are given to 170-mm (6.5") head with the diffuser made of proprietary ALTIMA alloy (consist of aluminum, magnesium and titanium). It differs by small weight and high rigidity that minimizes nonlinear distortions. Acoustic design is the rear bass-reflex. Impressive bodies, finished by natural veneer, are well damped (the weight of each speaker system is more than 10 kg/22 lbs). Bi-wiring and bi-amping connection to an amplifier is provided here.

Work of Quadral Rondo with any music material impresses. The systems' sound is perfectly organized and extremely clear. They cope with even dense by spectrum recordings surprisingly easy, not turning the sound into illegible mess. Detailing of the upper range is truly striking and the abundance of nuances does not distract from the main music theme.

In MIDs significant nonlinearity wasn't also found. Bass register of Quadral Rondo is very deep for shelf-type systems and well defined. It only needs a bit more intelligibility at the very bottom. Dynamics doesn't impress too much in this spectrum, but the sound of bass guitar, however, is relief and various. Sound stage is stable at any volume and differs by slightly increased scale. Perhaps, this is one of few claims to this system.
