Magnat Altea 3 Bookshelf speakers

For more than forty years (Magnat was founded in 1973) this German manufacturer of home and car audio has made the way from a small company, created by the group of enthusiasts, to one of the largest European brands, whose products are represented in more than fifty countries around the world and are swept all before one.

Pretty impressive by sizes shelf speaker systems from the popular Altea series have a classical two-way construction. The tweeter of Magnat Altea 3 has a 25-mm fabric dome, impregnated with a special compound, and 170-mm woofer with a cellulose diffuser. It is noteworthy that the tweeter is made by the branded fmax technology and, according to the developers, provides the extended playing of high frequencies (up to 45 kHz). The model is available in two colors - beech and cherry. Built and finish quality quite corresponds to the declared price.

Speaking about the sound of this German pair, I just want to note very high for its class sound resolution throughout the range. It seems that no the subtlest detail can escape notice. Especially this refers to the upper band, where the information content is just astounding. Apparently, this is the merit of tweeter with the extended bandwidth of playing. There are no claims to the rest of the spectrum too: bass differs by good articulation and control, the middle is very real and does not have audible color. Only the sound stage is not as large as I would like, but, perhaps, this problem is solved by more precise installation of the system.
