Canton Chrono SL 530 Bookshelf speakers

Canton Chrono SL 530 shelf speakers stand out by a strict lacquered body with a minimum of frills - everything is strictly and in German clearly. The company has traditionally used drivers with metal membranes - in a 180-mm woofer it is made of aluminum alloy, and the inch dome of the tweeter is made of aluminum-magnesium. The tweeter is placed in a small horn that expands the radiation pattern. The bass reflex port is brought out to the rear wall of the case, which must be taken into account when installing the speakers near the wall. Threaded holes are provided on the bottom for tight binding to the racks - this is the installation that the manufacturer recommends first of all.

After warming up (and this is mandatory for all loudspeakers with metal diffusers), we begin listening. Surprisingly, in the sound of Canto SL 530 there is no hint of increased loudness or aggression. It is extremely clear and precise, with excellent nuances throughout the band. For such a small body volume, there are no special problems with bass - they will need a subwoofer support only when playing extremely intensive songs in the lower range.

Vocal sounds very effective - it combines plasticity and moderate severity, making the voices absolutely recognizable. Upper case also does not give serious reasons for criticism. Perhaps only the most subtle nuances lack sophistication. The space is built precisely and with the right scale - this is rarely seen even in much more expensive speakers.
