KEF Q300 Bookshelf speakersIn new Q series the engineers of KEF have moved from rounded form of the body to the more usual rectangular, allowing the system to look more massive and stricter. The model is based on the famous Uni-Q module of the last generation, the construction of which was borrowed from Blade concept. There is a tweeter with 1-inch metallic dome and vented voice coil in the center of 165-mm aluminum diffuser. Such assembly differs by complete conjunction of acoustic axis of both emitters. In the context of sound, this means an ideal time and phase conjunction and, consequently, a stable sound scene with perfect localization.
Monitors of Q300 have fast attack, confident dynamics and high sound efficiency. Due to a big for shelf speaker systems volume of the body they are characterized by impressive in depth and power lower register. Bass control I good too - it distinguishes by speed, difficult rhythmic pictures are not blurred, noticeable compression is absent. As it turned out, the monitors have quite high directivity of radiation so the audio feed (especially at high frequencies) may slightly vary depending on the listener's position relatively to the system. The clarity of lower middle is a bit reduced (obviously due to bass-reflex port), but the general transparency does not cause questions. The parameters of sound scene fully depend on the accuracy of placement of the system. |
