Boston Acoustics RS 260 Bookshelf speakersRS 260 - the representative of the newest Reflection series is literally full of advanced technical solutions. For example, Super Linear Plane (SLP) technology, which allows by diaphragms to significantly reduce diffraction, is used in construction of the body. Drivers are not less interesting. An inch tweeter is made by the principals, tested in the top VS series. The main feature of its design is EWB, a special nozzle in the center of dome, optimizing the tweeter's work in the entire frequency band. Mid-woofer can boast by a rigid diffuser made of the patented FCCM material - composite of fiberglass with ceramics. According to the researches, such membrane has an increased resistance to bending distortions that, undoubtedly, should affect the purity of sound. Boston Acoustics RS 260 speaker system clearly works out rhythm, has decent macro-dynamical possibilities and wide frequency range. For shelf systems RS 260 has quite deep bass, the heavy deficit of which is almost not felt even at the recordings of symphonic music. But at the most intensive in low-frequency sense phonograms the lower case is slightly emphasized, a bit shading the middle. Top is read perfect - discants are informative, clear and not aggressive at all. The main sources are concentrated between speaker systems, at the edges of space the localization doesn't fall, but the sound stage is very large-scale. |
