DALI Ikon 1 Bookshelf speakers

These Danish monitors are cheaper than the most of competitors and at the same time they are made not in China and have three-way configuration.

For better playing of overtones HF-range is divided in DALI Ikon 1 into two parts: the traditional tweeter with 28-mm soft dome works from 2900 to 14000 Hz and the ribbon driver with ultra lightweight diaphragm works higher, up to 30 kHz. This is an original and effective solution, because in compact construction a temporary mistuning between tweeters will be minimal. In addition, the combination with a 130-mm mid-bass diffuser made of wood pulp promises very interesting effect. Two small bass-reflex ports are placed on the aluminum faceplate.

High and narrow body is well-damped. Finish variants are veneer of light oak or walnut and also matte black.

DALI Ikon 1 differs by light, open sound with natural transfer of the upper range and the abundance of air. Three-dimensional picture is also built ideally - in most test fragments the speaker systems literally lost in space and the imaginary sources, at the same time, were precisely fixed by depth and width of the stage. Tonal balance is slightly shifted up, perhaps, due to the lack of the lowest bass. The middle is informative. Dynamics is slightly limited, kicks not always have enough energy, although, in general, drive is transferred well. Albeit the intelligibility is awesome, even the recordings with very complex spectrum sound naturally and harmonious.
