Revolver RW16 Bookshelf speakersRW16 is produced exclusively in Britain and natural wood is used for the finish. They even reeks of classics - the bodies made of cases 18-millimeter MDF distinguish with a characteristic "monitor" proportion and phase-inverted acoustic design. And the drivers are taken as if from a recent past, when British experts were attracted by tweeters with an aluminum dome and loved to experiment with mid-basses made of a lightweight fiberglass composite. But, if you look closely, you will find something new in Revolver RW16: a fabric with a very dense weave is chosen for the diffuser, and the tweeter's sphere is subjected to deep anodizing and has an unusually large radius. The inclusion of RW16 into the system is a small musical holiday. These loudspeakers emit a detailed, clean and optimistic sound. The upper band is reproduced a little more sonorous than required, there is also a small "body's" tint, but the deviations do not go beyond the reasonable - they are local and do not irritate at all. Albeit the tweeters stand out with very high detailing of sound. Bass qualities are adequate to the size. RW16 does not try to pull a deep bottom out, but it is quite linear in the area of the main (and more meaningful musically) bass. Drum dynamics is very good. The loudspeakers clearly transmit the attack. It gives a detailed plastic sound in the low-mid-range area, while violent intonations come out above the spectrum (again - all is within reasonable limits). Generally, it is hard to make any serious claims to these Brits. But the sound stage of Revolver RW16 is not so deep, it rather reminds a panorama. ![]() |
