Mirage MM-6 Subwoofer

While unpacking the sub I thought that we have already tested it - its appearance looked very familiar. It turned out that Mirage MM-6 has a twin brother - Energy ESW-M6. The fact is quite clear - both brands are owned by one holding company "KGC".

Moreover, these models turned out to be absolutely identical by both technical parameters and construction. A low-frequency driver with the caliber of 6.5 inches and two passive radiators of the same diameter are used here. The built-in amplifier is designed with reserve - its peak power is 800W. Only RCA, combined with LFE is provided for connection to a receiver or amplifier. This can be considered as minimalism, but in most cases such set of connectors is enough. The finish (Mirage MM-6 is also available in black royal lacquer) is truly flawless.

First, we connect it to stereo amplifier. The sub behaves exemplary on musical recordings - speed and pressure are fantastic. Attack is played extremely naturally. Bass structure is transferred amazingly correct - lower range is perceived naturally even at the most difficult recordings. The work with the deepest basses is limited by physical possibilities of the construction, but clear deficit of infra-low components can be felt only, probably, on organ compositions. There are some limitations at the using of this baby in home theatre, but they will be minimal in combination with floor fronts.
