Polk Audio PSW125 Subwoofer

PSW125 subwoofer differs by big sizes of the body and 12-inch caliber of LF-head. It is designed by the method of advanced computer simulation and has Dynamic Balance diffuser with composite structure. To increase the impact on the lowest frequencies, the bass reflex port is directed down (Floor Coupled Port) and the air duct has a rounded socket, which minimizes side-tones coming from output air flow.

The amplifier in PSW125 is powerful enough, 300 W at peak, and at the same time is extremely saving while working at low volume level. The set of switching connectors is presented by a pair of linear inputs (one of them is combined with LFE) and spring speaker terminals (output and input). All sound controls are standard.

From the first minutes the sub amazes by the widest frequency and dynamic range. On any phonograms you literally all over feel a truly irrepressible pressure and tremendous energy. But only delicacy can be not enough sometimes. The sub is able to create very solid sound pressure, but flip side of this advantage can become unpleasant room resonances. In order to eliminate them you need to have a modern receiver with the auto calibration system. It sounds best with maximally narrowed operating band, so the best partners will be big floor speaker systems. To some extent the bass character is depend on the type of covering, which the sub is installed on. But this is the question of more long-term experiments.
