Wharfedale UPC-10 Subwoofer

Wharfedale UPC-10 subwoofer is built by the Push-Pull principle, for the implementation of which two proprietary 10-inch drivers are used. They are located on the front and rear panels and effectively compensate for the vibrations of each other. Due to the significant total area of the membranes, it was possible to get an impressive for this body's volume lower limit of 30 Hz (-3 dB). Among the features of the onboard amplifier there are a high output power reaching 350W and a digital non-linear distortion correction circuit. The front panel of UPC-10 is equipped with an LCD display showing the current settings. The subwoofer is equipped with a full-featured remote control with the ability to record custom settings and recall two factory presets, Movie and Night, to the memory.

First, we note the excellent rate of subwoofer and excellent percussion quality. Together with the complete absence of corpus sounds, this guarantees the most detailed and natural transmission of the low-frequency band. The sound is absolutely not overloaded with extraneous sounds and has a clear structure. Speaking about the minor errors, we'll mention only a certain monotony of the sound, which can be noticed not at every phonogram. Activating the Movie preset expectedly endows the sound with greater looseness in the lowermost band, while simultaneously increasing the depth of the bass. Night mode introduces a noticeable compression, but in no way reduces the detail, proportionally reducing only the scale of what is happening.
