Boston Acoustics MSub Subwoofer

Boston Acoustics MSub design is sophisticated in many respects - a non-trivial design with a pair of passive capacitors is used. The main, active 10-inches driver is on the front panel and additional 8-inches ones are on the side walls of the body. The drivers' diffusers are made of lightweight polypropylene and equipped with the branded suspension with increased stroke. These solutions allowed getting an impressive lower border of playback, reaching the mark of 23 Hz. For confident work at any volume level the sub is equipped with highly efficient amplification section with peak output power of 1000 W. The sub has quite extensive switching capabilities, among which there are RCA connectors, separate LFE input for sounding theatre effects and high-leveled spring terminals.

Among the competitors the sub distinguishes by energy and incredibly powerful basses. The sound of Boston Acoustics MSub can be described as slim and truthful, with sufficient dynamics and clarity of bass structure. But I should note that overhang in the area of lower border seemed to be slightly relaxed. Nevertheless, the sub obtains huge potential for theatre systems. This is mainly connected with the highest overloading capability and also with the ability to create literally squall pressure. At the same there are no extraneous sounds at any volume.
