Tangent Clarity 4 Bookshelf speakers

The model range of Clarity consists of four speaker systems - floor, central channel loudspeaker, shelf monitors and active sub. We test the loudspeakers Tangent Clarity 4 of unusually bright red color like Ferrari racing cars. The bodies of speakers have back bass-reflex and rely on cone-shaped supports. Special stands, which you can buy separately, are provided for this model.

The front panel is made of gray composite with good anti-resonance properties. A pair of drivers is installed on it - a 25-mm tweeter with a soft dome and 130-mm composite woofer with a phase equalizing header.

Switching connectors in Tangent are two pairs of high-quality spring terminals, connected by a strap. This gives the opportunity to test two-wire connection schemes to the amplifier. The bodies are heavy and properly damped from inside by a special sound absorber. There is the system of internal struts, which increases rigidity. Finish and build quality is high and can serve as a model for other manufacturers. The attention, paid to external finish, particularly pleases - the loudspeakers look just great.

The sound of Tangent Clarity 4 is as impressive as its appearance. It is extremely linear and meticulously adjusted. They have few competitors by focus and informative content.

We should also note a wonderful work of the tweeter. Its contribution to overall picture expresses in very airy and natural forming of discants, without a hint on any defects or omissions. The most interesting fact is that other parts of the range worked not less intensively. Despite of the modest volume of the body, these monitors have no any problems with bass and dynamical capabilities go far beyond the frames of usual beliefs.

Of course, we are not talking about extra depths here, but you can easily feel a jerk of bass-guitar's string. Very transparent and accurate middle deserves a special praise. Despite of sometimes formal work with timbres, claims are minimal to it.
