Monitor Audio Bronze BR2 Bookshelf speakers

The modern version of very successful model B2 is called now BR2 (Bronze Reference 2), having been undergone significant improvements in the design. Thus, BR2 has a seriously modified tweeter with the dome made of the branded C-CAM composite, which is able to cover the range up to 30 kHz. Changes were also made to low-frequency section - now it is built on 6.5-inches driver with multi-layered MMP (Metal Matrix Polymer) diffuser of the second generation that has better sound properties. New crossover with minimal phase distortions was specially developed for BR2 and the construction of bodies was also significantly reinforced. Now they became more rigid and maximally inert. The possibility of bi-wiring and bi-amping connection was surely saved. The first thing to note in the sound of Monitor Audio Bronze BR2 is perfect dynamics and fire rate in LF range. Bass, at the same time, is deep enough and uncompromising even in organ compositions. Sometimes you hear body's side-tones, but this is easily treated with the supplied foam plugs. Playback of mid-range spectrum leaves contradictory impressions. Thus, grand piano is transmitted correctly in general, but sounds boomy; vocal is a bit poor in timbres. Sound stage slightly goes beyond the perimeter of the system's layout, distance plans are blurred, localization of sources of the front plan is blind. However, for this price category such errors are quite acceptable. Albeit the upper range is beyond criticism - it is accurate and bright. Resolution in the whole range is excellent, detailing is also at a high level.
