Magnat Alpha 20A SubwooferAlpha series contains three subwoofers (Alpha 20A, Alpha 25A, Alpha 30A) of similar construction (they differ by the sizes and power of built-in amplifier). Alpha 20A is the smallest LF-system. The bass-reflex port is placed on the faceplate, the speaker with a light paper membrane is fixed at the bottom; the body is equipped with the figured plastic legs, in which you can screw the supplied spikes. There are linear inputs of both channels (outputs are absent). High-amplitude inputs and outputs are short-circuited - the filter of high frequencies is not provided. There is the function of auto switch-off after 10 minutes after signal stop and activation. If small subwoofers are typically designed for effective production of the upper bass and leave truly deep LF-components "offscreen", Alpha 20A seems to seek to cover all, including almost inaudible by person infrasonic area. And it considerably succeeds. The possibilities of both dynamic head and amplifier allow you to make a deep expansion without serious losses of quality. The system obtains a universal theatrical bass: an adequate presentation of low-frequency content of almost all test movie fragments turned out to be within its scope of abilities. Only sometimes we wanted to "increase" bass in energy sense. However, everything is neatly. The sub builds a harmonious trio with shelf systems, properly decorating the variety of musical forms by nice and soft bass. Magnat Alpha 20A can be easily referred to the number of universal low-frequency systems. It is still better to combine it with shelf systems, but a good cinema will be with floor front too. It is good for small and medium sized rooms. ![]() |
