ELAC BS 62.2 Bookshelf speakers

The German speaker systems are assembled in a rigid body with classical for acoustic of such type proportions. The main part is made of veneer grain laminated MDF and the front panel of the increased thickness is finished in black glossy lacquer. A 135-mm head with the branded AS Cone diffuser, which is, in fact, a cellulose membrane, covered by the thickest aluminum foil, is responsible for the playing of low frequencies here. Thus, the developers manage to get almost an ideal material, which combines lightness with high rigidity. Upper part of the range is assigned to an inch silk tweeter, which is distinguished by an extended working band with upper limit at 25 kHz.

The acoustic design of the monitors is back bass-reflex, so when you install them directly near wall, you can use foam plugs and the systems will turn into "closed box".

First of all, we will note in the sound of ELAC BS 62.2 extremely transparent mid frequencies, sometimes giving a noticeable coolness. Sound resolution is equally high over the whole spectrum, the attack is played naturally. All-in-all the sound is quite dynamic, but at the same time the lowest bass is only marked.

The upper range seems to be slightly uptilted. Despite of the fact that the tweeter is distinguished by purity and detailing, HF can sometimes seem to be harsh and even prickly. In sound stage the images of foreground are perceived with a slight approximation to the listener. The virtual space itself has a bit reduced scale, but not without depth.
