ASW Cantius 212 Bookshelf speakersThe ASW Cantius 212 loudspeakers represent already the fifth generation of the popular series. Their design is extremely strict and laconic in German way - there is nothing superfluous in the appearance. The model has a two-way design with a bass reflex, a small port of which is placed on the back wall of the body. The tweeter with an inch dome made of cloth is covered with a metal mesh. It has an improved high power magnetic system, and the frequency range is expanded to 30 kHz. The woofer is equipped with a Kevlar diffuser of a relatively small diameter (150 mm), but due to the increased stroke, special problems with the bass are not anticipated. The quality of the finish deserves a separate mention - the loudspeakers are available in various versions of natural veneer, as well as in the fashionable version of "piano lacquer". ASW Cantius 212 differ by audibly comfortable tonal balance, but with a slightly raised top. This slightly lightens the sound of some natural instruments and distinguishes hissing sounds in voice parts a little bit more noticeably. In general, the tweeter combines the optimal resolution with a natural attack. The middle is fairly transparent and convex, the sound resolution is sufficient. But at lower frequencies the accuracy of sound is slightly reduced - the very edge of the bass register is somewhat amorphous. The space in the interpretation of these monitors turns out to be whole throughout its entire length; there is an explicit depth of the sound stage and the correct scaling. ![]() |
