Focal-JMlab Chorus 807V Bookshelf speakers

Chorus 807V are quite large speaker systems, built on dynamical heads of own design and production, with bass-reflex on the back wall. A pair of high-class drivers is used in them - a 7 inch woofer and 25-mm (1") tweeter with the inverted dome. Aluminum-magnesium alloy, allowing to reduce the movable mass, is used for production of membrane. In combination with powerful magnetic system this allows to minimize nonlinear distortions and to increase the allowable input power. Woofer's diffuser is also made by the patented Polyglass method. An important attribute of the speaker systems is the unique design by the famous Pineau & Le Porcher bureau, bringing the system to the level of interior decoration.

First thing that you notice while listening to Focal Chorus 807V is the extraordinary transparency of sound. Such quality is achieved not only due to the lack of veil at mid frequencies, but also due to maximally detailed top. In addition, the tweeter should be praised for the abundance sof air. Lower case slightly differs from the usual. In main zone bass is organized and perfectly structured, but in the bottom part the control is a bit missed. A small hump in the area of bass-reflex work affects the parameters of midbass. Sound stage is built truly exemplary. Scale is correct, focus is ideal, positions of sources are not violated.
