Q Acoustics 2020i Bookshelf speakersThe loudspeakers that came to us for testing have a fashionable finish with piano lacquer, however, more traditional and affordable graphite and walnut are also available. Compared to the previous version, the updated Q Acoustics 2020i absolutely did not change outwardly: British engineers managed to improve the sound quality by improving the existing design. First of all, the bodies were so reinforced from the inside that they became more inert. A number of new materials are used to also improve drivers. The tweeter got a redesigned magnetic system, which let it cope better with increased volume levels. In addition, the mid-woofer can now boast of a lightweight but at the same time more rigid diffuser on the base of cellulose fiber. The changes also affected the separation filter, recalculated for improved driver settings. The sound of monitors is extremely comfortable: at any musical material you cannot find a single aggressive note. The mid-range is presented in the most informative way. But the nature of the high frequencies has its own characteristics. Sometimes trebles need more sharpness. We should say about quite adult dynamic capabilities of Q Acoustics 2020i, which do not withdraw even to from the most complicated recordings of symphonic classics. Monitors are incredibly convincing at the creation of a spatial picture. The sound stage is really deep and differs by true proportions. |
