DALI Concept 1 Bookshelf speakers

In the Danish company "DALI" this series has the name "Concept" because the engineers decided to try to bear conceptual solutions from Hi-End to budget sector. What was it expressed in? You won't find the answer, judging by the appearance. At first glance the tweeter is simple, one-inch and with a silk dome. And low-mid-frequency speaker is not outstanding - no big deal that some brown composition was laid on a cellulose diffuser. The cases are made of MDF. Connection is standard, not two-way. Well, there are two bass-reflexes - everybody tends to make one port, larger and with bell, in order to reduce turbulent side-tones.

To be honest, the sound of Concept slightly hit to pieces. The speaker system play music, clearly putting in two pennyworth, coloring the sound in both middle and top bands, but the result is expressive, I would rather say tasteful. Good dynamical qualities together with clear basses, live playing of voices and, finally, perfectly divided in plans stage - all of these wins favor to listening. Concept 1 does not approve itself in all music genres, but I would listen to old hard-rock stuff, favorite symphonic compositions and just guitar songs with great pleasure on this system.
