Polk Audio very seriously applies to any its product - small R10 is equipped with the branded heads, calibrated to the full by the laser beam. The visual quality of the drivers immediately fills with optimism. Sound palette of the system definitely has a warm color. Some shift of the balance in favor of bass and midranges adds solidity. Bass is modest in the usual sense, but we can safely say that against the competitors R10 differs by a confident work with low-frequency content of sound, and considering small sizes, this ability can be found as extraordinary. Not only features of work with bass promote the feeling of sound softness but also tactful fall of high frequency role, which are responsible for overtone "tails". With the volume down the sound begins to seem boomy, loses detailing. Nevertheless, you imagine that sound of the speaker systems is organized very well. One of the main advantages of R10 is a good dynamics. Macrorelief is passed without distortion; at certain volume level the transparency of picture decreases, but evenly across the spectrum and such background effect almost does not make hearing nervous.
Many factors, including useful constructive features of R10, motive to recommend the speaker system for using in home cinema. But there are no any reasons to exclude its usage as a music stereo pair for small room - it will confidently play any modern music.
