Infinity Primus 200 Bookshelf speakers

Primus 200 is quite an unexpected appending of the seemingly formed series. The speaker system copies a two-way Primus 160 by its sizes and "fitments", but it is equipped with different heads: 165mm mid-bass speaker with fiberglass diffuser and the tweeter with 19mm textile dome membrane. The membranes, made of fiberglass, are characterized by a small mass and high absorbance of bending waves. Does the appearance of 200th signal about the impending upgrade of the line? Let us note that the "running" of new type heads has already made in several Infinity models. The nominal rating power is 150W. Quite large and solid case of Primus 200, assembled of 18-mm MDF, is moderately muted and externally covered by "textured" vinyl film. Only classical two-wire variant of connection is available.

A clear and "fat" bass, overlapping by its "fatness" the norm for the most compact shelf speaker systems, immediately attracts your attention. A pleasant splendor of low frequencies sometimes creates a very "floor" impression. And the quantity here is not at the expense of quality. Tonal balance earns a solid "B+"; the dynamic - a confident "A". The system provides rare for such money accuracy and detailing of timbre ornament of "acoustic" instruments' sound. Nuances of any vocal parties are played extremely sensitively. The geometry of musical scene is correctly transferred. The transparency of sound decreases at high volume, but you can't require even from a good shelf speaker system for resources that compose the dignity of a serious floor speaker system. Speaking about genres, Primus 200 is absolutely universal, even classic music in their performance is beyond the constructive critics.
