B&W CDM2 Bookshelf speakers

B&W CDM2 is a two-way speaker system; bass-reflex port is on the back wall. Low-frequency head with Kevlar conic diffuser has a diffuser with the diameter of 165 mm, rigid dome of the tweeter is of 25 mm. The recommendable power range of an amplifier is 30-120W. Bi-wiring is provided. CDM2 is equipped with foam plugs, tightly overlapping bass-reflex ports that allows you to change the type of acoustic design at your option. Very nice monitors are finished with natural ash veneer. The accuracy of workmanship tells us that the developers worked hard on CDM2.

Before the listening to classics, being the basis of the test program, we felt doubt caused by modest sizes of B&W CDM2. However, juicy, elastic sound stream of Brahms's Third Symphony took the pressure off and dipped us into thoughts about endless metamorphoses of audio and ... prices for speaker systems. Here is good, informative, balanced sound: expressive and correct high frequencies with transparent all the way down atmosphere. Listening to classical vocal did not spoil wonderful frame of mind, which Brahms led us to. Baritone, contralto and soprano appear in the full splendor of its features. The feeling of visibility of overhang and slight discomfort appears mainly due to the cut of bass components. Is the "monitor" essence justified? Albeit nonlinear distortions are clearly small; sound panorama, created by B&W CDM2, is modest by depth, but quite wide in front, structures well a scenic image and is instantly noted by the listener.
