Castle Tay Bookshelf speakersCastle Tay is a two-way speaker system with bass reflex output on the faceplate. The diameter of the MF/LF head with conical diffuser is 130 mm, the soft dome of the tweeter - 25 mm. The recommendable power range of the amplifier is 25-110 W (nominal power - 110W). The possibility of separate connection of the speakers is provided. The subordination to the selected style is felt in the image of the speaker systems, including natural wood veneer; in favor of this style the developers have ignored the well-established tradition to remove the chips from edges that likely looks like a ritual than like acoustically appropriate action. The system's sizes are 190x420x240 mm. The sound of Castle Tay fully justifies the inscription on the sticker, being attached to the decorative grill: Real Hi-Fi. Any musical form gets corrective, content reflection. Horns and especially strings (live and electric) have body and soul. The system copes well with transfer of upper case in instrumental compositions. Diligent saturation of sound image of flute, violin, and saxophone by overtone ornament will create a special atmosphere, similar to morning transparency. Female vocal sounds beautiful, can't say in other words. The richness of color of, so to say, green-blue palette a bit suppresses warm colors. Who will call Titian or Tintoretto unimportant painters only because of moderate amount of used ochre? The structure of the bass area is well worked out in both terms of the dynamic capabilities of the system and of individual meaning: there are no tonal masking noises. The ability of the system to form a detailed sound panorama is worth mentioning. The actual sound space has the width, depth and even the height, so musical instruments are confidently localized not only by a qualified expert but a newcomer listener. ![]() |
