Ruark Icon Bookshelf speakers

Ruark Acoustics Icon is a two-way speaker system; the bass-reflex port is placed on the faceplate. The diameter of mid/low-frequency head with a cone plastic diffuser is 130 mm; a soft dome of the tweeter has the diameter of 25 mm. There is the possibility of connection by bi-wiring scheme. The speaker systems have the sizes 190x350x250 mm and look attractively and strictly. The design is harmonious and natural and the reason is in a graceful veneer of the case.

The most complete and remarkable impressions from the listening are associated with representation of low frequencies by the system. Well-balanced, clear and expressive bass is worth much. Double-bass and cello paint planes and edges of musical forms by juicy thick strokes, forming the volume full of light and breath. You have not so bright impressions from the listening to classical vocal parties: baritone and tenor are as if slightly dried, soprano needs more airiness. These nuances are important for voices, cultivated in conservatories, and for hearing, spoiled by acoustics of the best concert halls. Not very difficult pop vocal saves a typical for it sensitivity and pressure. TheRuarkspeaker system plays high frequencies not bad. The situation here is in some degree similar to the situation with transfer of vocal. The arsenal of electro musical instruments is interpreted adequately; the graphics of drums is good. But live instruments need typical for them elegancy: violins are as if boosted, viola is deaf. But, the system gives flute and wind instruments quite truly. The structure of space is well-read, but the panorama is a bit narrowed by excessive focus - you should definitely orient the stereo pair on a listener.
