Tannoy Sensys DC1 Bookshelf speakers

Tannoy often gladdens us by unusual solutions. Super Tweeter, made in separate body and increasing the upper border of the frequency range up to 51 Hz, is used in DC1 speaker systems. On the front panel there is a dual coaxial driver, made by Dual Concentric technology. In the central part of 175-mm MF/LF driver there is the tweeter with a 25 mm dome. Such construction allows to achieve coherence of the signal (to minimize interfere distortions) and improved localization of the source. Bass-reflex port is placed in the front. The existence of five terminals is curious! The purpose of the fifth is grounding.

Sound. Conveying the material in mid and high register, Tannoy Sensys DC1 never lose an ideal sound focus. But the sound noticeably needs a bit more plasticity and timbral accuracy. A slight metallization sometimes rises at high frequencies, due to which the sound becomes a bit loud. The playback of bass by Tannoy system is characterized by decent coloring in the middle part of the register. Bass is deep, but its quantitative and qualitative aspects are balanced not in the best way. However, these failures are hard to be noticed, when modern energetic music plays, which Tannoy Sensys DC1 plays freely and on a large scale.
