NAD M3 Amplifier

The NAD M3 amplifier has a solid design, construction and weight. The side panels, made in the form of heat sinks, solve all the problems with heat dissipation. The back panel is memorable with very high quality WBT connectors. The front panel is nicely rounded on the sides, has a blue display and a large volume control. Included with the main remote control is an additional one, for the second zone.

The NAD M3 has a microprocessor control system and a timbrebox, complete with Spectrum Tilt correction. The input selector is designed for seven sources. One of the inputs is balanced. All the switching in the signal circuits is done by quality relays. There is a break between the pre and termination sections that allows you to distribute the sound to multiple amplifiers for multichannel circuitry. In addition, an equalizer or sound processor can be included in the path. Separately, it is worth mentioning the additional output from the pre-section with filtered low frequencies, thanks to which it is noticeably easier to build a 2.1 system.

The M3 is based on the ideology of "double mono", so the power system has two proprietary Holmgren transformers. The pre-path uses FET transistors, and the output stages are built with high current bipolar transistors. All auxiliary gain control and adjustment systems are separated from the audio path.

Even at low volume, the amplifier is able to transport the listener into the hall, masterfully conveying the subtle reverberations of the room where the music was recorded. A very valuable feature. A little bit alerted only tonal pattern - the amplifier sounds a little cool. The bass is very fast and accurate.

The middle part seems to be grayish, as if the device is afraid to cut your ears with bright colorful tones. The upper range is quite neutral. The character of its reproduction should suit well both for modern loudspeakers with aluminum or composite drivers and for classic speakers with light paper cones. Very attractive in this case and a 2.1 system, the NAD M3 is perfectly prepared to work with a subwoofer.
