Rega Brio 3 Amplifier

The third-generation Brio models differ by advanced power supply with a powerful transformer and two pairs of Sanken output transistors in each channel. The amplifier's case is completely aluminum, with rib stiffeners and anti-vibration legs. The front panel has a minimum of controls - only a power button, a selector for four inputs and a volume control. Built-in equalizer can work with any type of head. Traditionally for Rega amplifiers, tone correction is not provided. Well, it is not needed for the system with properly selected components, but a remote control, which is also missing, would be very useful.

Impressions from listening to Rega Brio 3 were somewhat unexpected. Even without having high power, the amplifier demonstrates a powerful power and surprising by strength and accuracy bass. It is characterized by a magnificent explosive dynamics and enviable sound ordering in all registers. Careful elaboration of the middle frequencies inspires wonder, and the correctness of the upper spectrum can serve as a model for many more expensive models. At times it seems that the sound quality of this English amplifier is the highest possible for this price category. Among the minor errors we can only mention one: the lower bass is transferred correctly, but not as deep as we would like. The space is voluminous and stable, and with the other components of the system corresponding to the class, it is completely holographic.
