Hegel H70 AmplifierThe patented by the manufacturer Sound Engine technology was laid into the basis of amplifier. These are the branded amplification modules, combining the benefits of both pure A class and more popular AB class. In addition, the special profile sees after full compliance of the form of input and output signals, adjusting if necessary the difference with a help of direct feedback. Another "trick" of Hegel H70 is a built-in DAC on PCM1574 chip with the parameters of 24/192. But that's not all yet: to connect to the PC a sound card on the well-known PCM2704, which allows input signals up to 16/48, is integrated into the amp. Speaking about the traditional analog sources - for their connection here are four inputs, including the balanced one on XLR connectors. The Norwegian showed a fairly calm temperament and the ability to bite the bullet at the work with any music genres. The mid- and high-frequency spectrums seem to be the most elaborated, where the sound resolution is maximal. The detailing of low frequencies is not so high, but there are no serious reasons for the criticism. Perhaps, the only thing that I want to notice is a slight deficit of energy at the playing of deep bass. At the connection of digital sources the sound obtains a bit rough tone. But in general the changes primarily refer to the edges of the range - bass slightly hardens, discants become less airy. The space is outlined quite impressively, with little limits in width, but with clear deep perspective. |
