Magnat MA 800 Amplifier

Magnat MA 800 is a hybrid amplifier. ECC82 double triodes of Russian production, specially selected after a 60-hour warm-up, are installed in the preliminary cascades. The output stage, built on high-current Sanken transistors, is no less serious and can give up to 110 watts per channel (4 ohms). Technically, the model's topology provides for separate supply of the channels from the own windings of the massive toroidal transformer. Theoretically, this solution should provide excellent channel separation and, therefore, a stable sound stage. In this regard, the manufacturer emphasizes that exclusively selective element base was use while creating the amplifier: ALPS potentiometer, audiophile resistors and capacitors.

The sound of Magnat MA 800 primarily attracts the attention by somewhat accented and warm middle. It is this range, which both the highest resolution and maximum control fall at. Against this background, the low-frequency range may not always be perceived as perfectly polished and sharp and the top is slightly devoid of airiness. It is logical that the vocals leave the strongest impression, by beauty of which the amplifier has no peers. In the voices, in addition to the mass of details, also there are shades that seemed unnoticeable earlier. Space creation is also one of the strongest features of Magnat MA 800. In phonograms of the highest quality you can feel the ideal scale, the texture of imaginary images, and the clarity of distant plans.
