Mordaunt-Short MS-05i Bookshelf speakers

Mordaunt-Short MS-05i is a two-way speaker system. There are two bass-reflex ports on the front panel of the speakers. The cone woofer, manufactured using proprietary technology (MCS-technology), has a diameter of 100 mm, the dome of the polyamide tweeter is 10 mm. The black baby (170x260x180 mm) looks great both with and without a decorative grille. The dimensions of the speaker system make it easy to cope with the task of its placement. Of course, the place where the back panel will be against the wall will be preferable. The recommended power range of the amplifiers is 15-60 W, the maximum peak power is 120 W. The sensitivity of the system according to the results of measurements is 86 dB. The frequency response looks quite decent; the average unevenness is about ±3 dB. The middle part is well built, so the vocal parts sound excellent. A slightly emphasized polite attitude to the voice allows you to accurately convey the individuality of the performer. High rigor of interpretation is also observed for the vast majority of stringed, wind, and keyboard instruments. The lower part of the range does not, of course, imply a subtle connoisseur of organ music as a listener, but there is already enough space for the double bass, and it will completely retain its palette. It can be seen that the system developers, when organizing both the lower and upper limits of the range, were guided by rational considerations determined by the size of the speaker system - you can't jump above your head ... It would be possible to equip the Mordaunt-Short MS 05i speaker system with a stunning tweeter, but then it's irreversible (amplifier will not save) the balance is lost and the value increases inadequately. Poor field uniformity requires a well-defined speaker orientation to achieve a good stereo effect. According to the characteristic of the input impedance module, the nominal impedance is 6 ohms. The crossover frequency of the subbands is 3 kHz. The relatively high tuning frequency of the resonator once again confirms that the developers of the Mordaunt-Short MS-05i did not seek to captivate the listener with the sounds of a bass drum in this case.
