Pioneer VSX-1015 AV-receiver

The improved MCACC calibration system is the pride of Pioneer engineers. In addition to the standard manual and automatic settings of the multichannel system, it independently corrects the frequency response of each loudspeaker with a five-band parametric equalizer, and during the setting also takes into account the natural sound background in the room. All channels have 24 bit/192 kHz DACs, and the amplifier stages in VSX-1015 are made on MOSFET transistors.

From the first minutes of listening Pioneer VSX-1015 asserts itself as a device with a very attractive ratio of sound quality/price. At first, you can not find even a fault anywhere. The scene is perfectly focused both in front and to side, clearly surrounds and captures natural three-dimensionality (there are even signs of good vertical localization). There are no added tonal shades. Dynamics reaches deadly values. The backgrounds are worked with amazing euphony. Claims can only be attributed to the playback of percussion parts - there is no feeling that VSX-1015 can always keep the bass under full control. These are the impressions when connecting the source to the digital input. With a linear input, the middle becomes smoother, the voices are more convex, but in general the difference is extremely small. Switching to a multichannel input does not give striking rise of quality, as it happened with other receivers.
