Goldenote AP-7 AmplifierThe Italian amplifier belongs to the Micro Line series, which contains electronic components in a compact design. Goldenote AP-7 not only has a memorable appearance, but also embodies the original technical idea. The power supply unit has a hybrid design that combines the advantages of both traditional analog and modern pulse circuits. Due to this, it was possible to significantly increase the efficiency with the minimum size of the device. Moreover, as an option, in conjunction with AP-7 it is possible to use the external power supply unit PSU-7, which gives a significant increase in sound quality. The amplifier is designed to connect up to four sources (and one of the inputs is balanced XLR), which is often sufficient. The device is controlled by a miniature remote control. Despite the rather modest output power, the amplifier shows a completely adult absolute dynamics with excellent energy. There is enough plastic in its sound in the most important middle range, whose character is worth of special mention. The full harmony reigns here together with the highest information content creating a real sense of presence in the center of musical events. However, Goldenote AP-7 works out the edges of the range not so brilliant. In the bass band you at times feel a lack of depth, and high frequencies are slightly subject to compression as the volume rises. The amplifier is strong enough to build a sound stage. The formed space is distinguished by high orderliness of virtual images and has quite tangible depth. And even despite the relative compactness, the scene easily fills the medium-sized listening room. |
